How long do you wait to respond to your email?

One of my favorite things to do is to write back to people immediately, minutes after I read their message. It surprises (and pleases) most people quite a bit. Now I can't do it with every email I receive - sometimes I'm away from my office, sometimes I'm too busy and sometimes I just procrastinate.
